Christmas 2009 and Ringing in the New Year

I just cannot get over that Christmas has already come and gone. I get sad just thinking about it. We had such a great and relaxing break, even with our couple of trips to the Doctor.

Just a quick recap of the season. . .

1- We went to Snowflake Lane again this year. It was Madi's 1st time that she can probably recall seeing snow, even if it was man made:) We had fun listening to the drummers, seeing the penguins, and polar bears, and seeing the snow.
2- Rigdon wrote Santa and got to deliver it to him in the Downtown Seattle Macy's. He was the real deal, complete with a tug-able beard.:) As you can see all this little guy wanted was GREEN. A green bat, green baseball, a green race care, and of course a green glove to match it all. To this day, Rigdon still thinks that Santa just lives in our backyard. Of course he lives on "Mount Reindeer" with his Reindeer.
(This was my favorite part of the Season, it was so much fun watching
Rigdon fall in love with Christmas)
3- Rigdon loved opening gifts! When we had a new gift to open he would say, "FOR ME?" I almost felt bad when it wasn't a gift for him, because he just loved everything. This little boy was really excited. So excited, that he woke up at 3:30 and then at 6:30 to open his gifts. 4- Madilynn loved her stroller that Rigdon got for her. She loves pushing it around and also having one of us push her around in it. She was so much fun this year.
5- Despite having a massive case of STREP throat, it was a great Christmas, because Trever was home. It was so nice, to lay in bed and be pampered by my sweet hubby.
6- It was so nice to know that while I was resting, this was happening in the other room. I couldn't help but smile, and think this is what life is all about. . .
7- We rang in the new year solo this year. We put the kids to bed and then Rocked out on ROCK BAND. (Thank you Jen and Chad. I cannot believe that we are lucky enough to have friends like you) We even had these hot sexy glasses to ring in the new year. :) Trever was so excited to wear them.
8- We took down the decorations, the tree, and nativity on New Years Day. How sad it was. Rigdon had fun right up until it was time to take the Christmas Tree to the Dump. He cried as Trever tossed it out. Don't worry Rigdon, I feel like crying too.
We had such a great Holiday Season. We missed the snow though:(

  1. Trevor looks good in the apron and chef hat. It looks like the holidays were fun. I can't wait until next year, I think Braden will get it a little more. It looks like Rigdon had the best time ever.

Are you guys planning on coming out at the end of the month? Once again, we would love to have you. Just shoot us a quick e-mail to let us know details. (blakedbarnett@gmail.com) Hope to see you soon.

  7. I don't check blogs for a couple weeks and, BAM, you busted out some bloggy goodness! I love it.

I was looking at this with Kawika and was saying, "There's Rigdon...there's Rigdon opening a present...there's Rigdon's sister...Rigdon's mom and dad are wearing weird glasses...there's Rigdon as a vampire." It's funny the things kids notice.

P.S. You are so welcome for Rockband! You know we love you guys!!
