Alki Beach and the Arboretum

We finally went to Alki Beach and the Arboretum last Thursday. It was such a beautiful day, about in the 70's. I think this trip will be the first of many. The kids had a blast playing in the sand, and water at Alki. Madi got her first mouth full of sand. We got to see three little sea stars, a couple of baby crab, and lots of shells. They tried to build a sand castle, and just had so much fun playing at the Beach.Rigdon took this picture of us. We were both impressed that we have a budding photographer.

The Arboretum was beautiful. We couldn't believe all of the different plants that are there. It is such a huge area too. We went for a good walk and saw Lake Washington. It was a blast. The kids loved every minute of this day. And of course our day was complete when we hiked up a trail to see "The Chilean Fire Tree" that Trever hears Ciscoe talk about on the radio.
(I think he was a little disappointed: it wasn't in full bloom)
