Happy Birthday Little Peach

Today was Madilynn's first birthday. I cannot believe that she is one. Where did the time go, and how did my little girl get so big so fast? I held you tonight by the Christmas tree and just kept thinking back to the day that you were born. I remember being so scared to bring you here to this new place that we called home. I was hoping that my Doctor would do a great job, and that we would make it to the hospital in time. but most of all I was worried about where to have your big brother go.

Luckily, so many people offered to watch him, and the Korab's answered their phone in the middle of the night. If was so special to have Grandma Jeanie and Aunt Tami come and see you just hours after you were born. Thank you Mark for giving up your flyer miles. It made Christmas a lot easier to have family here. Then we also were able to have Grandma Dyer come and visit too. It was so great to have so much help when you were born.

Madi, you are so lucky to have been born this time of year. This season is so special, people open their hearts during this season, and become so much more joyful and willing to serve. It is also a time to think of our Savior. You remind me so much of him whenever you smile. You are such a little sweetheart.

I am so glad that you are in our lives and here in our home. It seems so strange that our family ever existed without you. You are getting to be quite the little walker now. Walking all over the place and following me everywhere I go. I sometimes call you "my shadow." I hope that when you grow older, you still will think it is cool to hang out with mom. I love you so much.

I will post some pictures of your special day tomorrow. I have to say that you really disappionted me today, you didn't dive into your cake like your older brother did. So, instead we all got a fork and started eating your cake with you. It was pretty fun.

  1. Wow, you have 2 toddlers. Braden wasn't fond of his cake either. He didn't quite get it at first, but then he learned. Has it been a huge adjustment with 2, espeically being close in age? I am starting to get really nervous that I will have a meltdown.
